This is what happens to your body when temperatures soar
Heatwaves are becoming hotter, longer, and more frequent due to climate crisis, and they can be deadly. Dr. Sanjay Gupta of CNN explains the warning signs to look out for.

Extreme heat, also known as "the silent killer," is one of nature's most deadly weather events. Hyperthermia or heat stroke occurs when the body cannot cool itself. Untreated, the body's temperature can rise to 104 degrees and cause brain damage or death. Heat stroke symptoms include nausea, vomiting, and fainting. Call 911 and cool the person down using ice packs or water if you notice these symptoms.
