Bayer Leverkusen is set to sign a midfielder from Girona for a reported fee of €18 million plus add-ons. The 26-year-old player played a significant role in Girona’s successful season, finishing third in La Liga. He made 37 appearances, contributing three goals and six assists. Despite being targeted by Barcelona, he chose to join Leverkusen. The player previously had stints at Villarreal, Manchester City, Dinamo Bucuresti, Eibar, and Girona. Leverkusen won the Bundesliga title last season, ending Bayern Munich’s streak.
