Charlotte's most expensive listing is not the Providence Plantation mansion of local businessman Michael Kahn. The mansion is now replaced by a house overlooking the Quail Hollow Golf Course that was listed earlier this week, just in time for Wells Fargo Championship.
The 7,901 square foot home located at 7214 Baltusrol Lane in Charlotte's Quail hollow neighborhood is listed at $8.49million and offers views of the 15th hole on the golf course. According to the listing, the home underwent an 18-month "to the studs renovation" that was completed in fall 2021.
Vicky Mitchener, Ducie Stark and Dickens Mitchener Real Estate listed the home on May 3.
The firm plans to make the most of the foot traffic at the Wells Fargo Championship hosted by Quail Hol Club on May 4-7.
Dickens Mitchener's spokeswoman told CBJ the agency had placed a sign in the backyard of the house, near the footpath on the golf course, with just a QR code to attract the attention and interest of spectators. She stated that showings of the home begin on May 8.
The Quail Hollow house has five bedrooms and six bathrooms. There are also three half bathrooms. It was built in 2005 and features a variety of custom details, including wide-plank Canadian Black Walnut hardwood floors and Italian Calacatta Marble tiles and countertops. There are also 11-foot-high ceilings, a catering scullery and a chef’s kitchen, as well as a main suite with a beverage bar, heated floors and a spa-like bathroom.
The 1.1 acre lot offers views of the golf courses, a heated pool with saltwater, a spa, a rear patio with fireplace, and a pool house deck equipped with retractable screens. The property also features a four-bay garage with a fourth bay reserved for a golf car.
According to Mecklenburg County records, the estate sold last for $4 million back in February 2020. The estate is owned by Room 455 LLC which is connected to a registered agent in Nokomis Florida. This town is located on Florida's west coast, between Tampa and Fort Myers.
Dickens Mitchener has not provided any additional comments on the sellers.
This article continues a series of articles by CBJ comparing the costs of luxury homes across the different regions of the region.
The house that was previously the most expensive in Charlotte has been listed for sale at $7.9million. Kahn and his wife, who owns Charlotte Checkers, had placed that Mediterranean-style 12,718 square-foot home on the market in late August.
