IBD/TIPP Poll April 2022: Tracking The U.S. Economy With The Economic Optimism Index
The IBD/TIPP Economic Optimism Index gives an early look at how U.S. consumers feel about the economy, personal finances and federal policies.
The IBD/TIPP Economic Optimism Index provides the first monthly reading of consumer confidence and is a reliable indicator of changes in mood in polls conducted by The Conference Board or the University of Michigan. The IBD/TIPP Economic Optimism Index uses a survey conducted by online panels of 1,200 adults to gauge Americans' opinions on the U.S. Economy. The national survey is usually conducted during the first week in each month.
The IBD/TIPP Economic Optimism Index consists of three subindices: one for the respondent’s future outlook in six months, another for their personal financial outlook and a third to gauge how they view current federal policies. Each month, the goal is to provide as accurate a read on the state of the U.S. Economy as possible.
IBD/TIPP produces the Presidential Leadership Index each month at the start of the month.
