Hits and Misses: Week of May 8, 2023

Carnegie Mellon University received $20 million in funding from the National Science Foundation, among other federal agencies, to establish the AI Institute for Societal Decision Making. This is one of seven AI institutes that are being created across the nation. This is a testament to CMU (and the region)'s growing AI capabilities and will help advance the nascent AI industry.

Trillium Flow Technologies, a company that makes pumps and valves, has signed a five-year lease to take more than 27,000 square feet at the industrial park. The company, which manufactures pumps and valves has signed a 5-year lease for more than 27,000 sq. ft. at the industrial park.

The Advanced Leadership Institute is expanding its reach to include the entire country. It has been known for cultivating Black corporate leadership through Pittsburgh. The Executive Leadership Academy has been launched in a national format. It will be taught online over a period of three months, with two in-person sessions lasting one week at CMU.
