(Reuters) - Honduras announced that it has ended its decades-long relationship to Taiwan. It said it only recognized China and left Taiwan with 13 formal diplomatic relations.
China regards democratically-governed Taiwan as part its territory without any right to state-to–state ties. Taiwan strongly disagrees.
China slowly reduced the number of countries with formal diplomatic ties to Taiwan over the years.
