There are accusations of centralization in relation to the governance structure for cryptocurrency.
Vanessa Harris, a Twitter user who describes herself as a "Web3 advisor", made the accusations. She claimed that IOG (the company that developed Cardano) would not lose control of the network in the current configuration.
Harris specifically mentioned CIP-1694, a Cardano Improvement Proposal as proof that IOG and other entities would maintain control over the network under all circumstances.
Hoskinson admitted that governance is "a complex affair" during a Twitter Spaces conversation.
Her controversial thread raised concerns about the power and jurisdiction of the constitution committee, which she claimed effectively belonged to IOG. She also questioned the fact that regular ADA users can't participate in governance without becoming a delegate representative.
Mixed reactions were seen by the cryptocurrency community to Harris’s tweet thread on Cardano’s proposed governance measures for CIP-1694, Voltaire. Some users are supportive while others are skeptical and dismissive. Hoskinson was accused by some users of spreading FUD, making false statements and spreading FUD.
